Welcome To My Blog

After ten years of hustle and bustle in Los Angeles, I have come to the quaint little town of Astoria, Oregon in search of some tranquility and self-exploration. With the captivating beauty of the Columbia River as a backdrop (and many rainy days) I am excited to spend time improving on my cooking skills, growing a garden and finally getting around to those creative projects I have put aside for so long.

The Astoria Docks

Astoria was once internationally revered as an important center for salmon fishing and salmon export. In the late 19th and early 20th century numerous canneries lined the waterfront of this small town. Today, where these monuments of commerce once stood all that remains are the skeletal remnants of the past.  Although the bustling docks and canneries  that came to define this small town as a giant in the fishing industry no longer stand, these modern ruins retain a rich history full of character and charm that define the Astoria of today.
